By using the Haecko platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Haecko is an educational platform displaying data about the world's fauna — animal species, their distribution, conservation status, and protection. The application is intended for educational and informational purposes.

• Registration is voluntary. An account allows you to track favourite species.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• Accounts used to abuse the platform (scraping, spam, attacks) will be terminated.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Species data is sourced from public databases (GBIF, IUCN, Wikipedia, iNaturalist, Xeno-canto). Some species descriptions are generated with the assistance of AI (Perplexity AI) and are provided for informational purposes only. Haecko does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content and recommends verifying critical information with primary scientific sources.

The Haecko interface, design, and application code are the property of Haecko. Species data is sourced from public databases and is subject to their respective open licenses (including GBIF, IUCN, and Wikipedia). You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute the Haecko UI or code without prior written permission.

The platform is provided "as is" without any guarantee of continuous availability. Haecko is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from use of the platform, including reliance on AI-generated species descriptions.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
