Haecko ("we", "us") operates the web application available at this domain. This document describes what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

• Registration data — email address and username provided during sign-up.
• Platform activity — species pages visited and favourited items.
• Technical data — IP address for rate-limiting (short-term, not stored long-term).

• Managing your account and authentication.
• Displaying your favourite species.
• Protecting the platform from abuse (rate limiting).

We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.

We use only technically necessary cookies required for authentication (session management via Supabase). We do not use any marketing, tracking, or analytical cookies.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data or track individual users.

Some species descriptions on this platform are generated with the assistance of AI (Perplexity, Claude). This content is provided for informational purposes only. In accordance with the EU AI Act, we disclose that AI-generated content may not be fully accurate and should not be relied upon as a primary scientific source.

We operate on third-party infrastructure:

• Supabase — authentication and database (EU region).
• Vercel — application hosting and web analytics.
• Upstash — rate limiting (IP address, short-term only).
• Perplexity AI — AI-assisted species descriptions.

We retain your data for as long as your account exists. Upon account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days. IP addresses used for rate-limiting are not stored beyond the active rate-limit window.

Haecko is not intended for children under the age of 16. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in your Dashboard → Settings. For other requests, contact us at the email address below.
